I interviewed my host mother about her country.
- How many languages are spoken in your country?
→She is from Canada, so English and French are the official languages, but there are also indigenous languages.
I was surprised that there is a French school near my house. Also, I often see indigenous languages at university. I was impressed by the diversity of indigenous languages in the university.
2. What kind of rights to the citizens have?
→The citizens have right such as free health care and education, freedom of speech, and LGBTQ+ rights.
The most interesting right is LGBTQ+ rights because when I toured the campus, I saw that the crosswalks were colorful. LGBTQ is not very accepted in Japan. I have seen before, the man who are married to men. I think the LGBTQ is accepted by many people in Canada.
3. What are your country’s cultural values?
→Spending time with family giving back to the community. / Spending time outside.
I experienced many activities with my host mother. My host mother took me many places during the holiday. I took a break at home in holiday when I was in Japan, so it was good exercise, and we had a great time.
