Introduction
My name is Wakaba Hayashi, I’m an international student at Thompson Rivers University. Why am I here? There are three reasons; first is because I don’t have confidence in myself, I want to change this and I want to improve my English skills, so I am staying in Kamloops, Canada. I am learning about Canadian culture, language studies, intercultural communication, and workplace English. It is difficult for me to understand the classes, but I enjoy thinking about comparing Japanese culture and Canadian culture. I also enjoy a lot of activities such as golf, indoor rock climbing, and watching nature. I have liked watching nature since I came to Canada because I don’t have a chance to see nature in Japan. Here, I can experience things that I have never experienced before. I am going to volunteer at the science center from October 12th to November 24th. I will have a chance to speak English and communicate with a lot of people because I am working alone as a volunteer. I want to have confidence, so this is good practice for me. I will try to speak English more, and I want to have no regrets.
